Abstract
Rubber latex originating from experiencing coagulation either naturally or with material assistance a coagulant. Natural coagulation takes quite a long while with the aid of a coagulant-containing chemicals that can leave residues that are harmful to the environment. Therefore this study was conducted with the purpose of getting a natural coagulant substance that can help the clotting process latex and can be used as a medium for microbial growth antagonists. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology of Soil Science Department Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya from February to April 2016. The method used is completely randomized design with three treatments, coconut water, pineapple extract 5%, and 10% of pineapple extract to do three repetitions. The results of the analysis of two different population averages obtained that the number of microbial populations antagonist in coconut water showed no significant difference with the initial population antagonistic microbes, so the medium can be the best medium for microbial growth modification antagonist. While in agglomerate the latex, pineapple extract 10% is the best medium.
