Abstract
An acetaldehyde production plant with a production capacity of 60,000 tons/year is planned to be established in 2030 in Rungkut District, Surabaya City, East Java Province, covering an area of 5.9 hectares. The acetaldehyde production process is based on Patent WO2024/163090AI, which employs a dehydrogenation method using a Copper-Chromium Catalyst to convert ethanol. The reaction takes place in a Packed Bed Reactor (PBR) at a pressure of 1.5 atm and a temperature of 260°C. The plant is structured as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) led by a director. The company's organizational structure is line and staff with 126 employees. The acetaldehyde plant is feasible to establish as it meets the following economic feasibility parameters: ❖ Total Capital Investment (TCI) ❖ Total Product Sold ❖ Total Production Cost (TPC) ❖ Annual Cash Flow (ACF) ❖ Pay Out Time = US$ 439.596.140,090 = US$ 645.598.648,411 = US$ 439.596.140,090 = US$ 254.886.336,799 = 2,14 year ❖ Rate of Return on Investment (ROR) = 51% ❖ Discounted Cash Flow -ROR = 58% ❖ Shut Down Point (SDP) ❖ Break Event Point (BEP) ❖ Service Life = 5% = 36% = 11 year
