Abstract
The tetrahydrofuran plant with capacity of 36.500 tons/year is planned to be built in Kariangau Industrial Area, Balikpapan with the area on 3 ha. Tetrahydrofuran in this plant is produced by dehydrating raw material 1,4-butanediol with catalyst in reactive distillation column based on Patent US202100617801A1. This reaction happens at temperature of 111,5°C dan pressure of 1422 mmHg. This plant is in the form of Limited Liability Company (PT) with line and staff organisation system led by a director and staffs totaled to 122 workers. Tetrahydrofuran plant is declared feasible to be built because it fulfilled the following economic parameters: ❖ Total Capital Investment (TCI) = US$ 26.049.715,11 ❖ Total Penjualan = US$ 57.305.000,00 ❖ Total Production Cost (TPC) = US$ 32.641.884,90 ❖ Annual Cash Flow (ACF) = US$ 6.669.883,67 ❖ Pay Out Time = 4,22 tahun ❖ Rate of Return On Investment (ROR) = 86,61% ❖ Discounted Cash Flow – ROR = 94,28% ❖ Break Even Point (BEP) = 21,29% ❖ Service Life = 11 tahun Keywords: Tetrahydrofuran, Reactive Distilation Column, Limited Liability Company (PT).
