Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of tutor mentoring in improving the academic achievement of elementary school students at Al Fatih Tutoring Center in Tanjung Batu District. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving tutors, students, and the institution’s management. The findings indicate that tutors play a crucial role as facilitators, motivators, and guides in the learning process. Mentoring goes beyond mere content delivery; it also involves building personal relationships that enhance students' learning motivation. The effectiveness of mentoring is influenced by the tutor’s competence, instructional strategies, student motivation, and a supportive learning environment. Tutor mentoring has been proven to enhance students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Furthermore, a conducive learning atmosphere contributes to a more positive learning experience. However, not all students showed significant academic improvement, which is affected by internal student factors. This study recommends the continuous development of tutors’ professional competencies, better instructional planning, and systematic evaluation of mentoring strategies. The findings are expected to serve as practical references for developing personalized learning approaches and strengthening educational support outside formal schooling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pendampingan tutor dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar di Bimbingan Belajar Al Fatih Kecamatan Tanjung Batu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan tutor, siswa, dan pengelola lembaga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tutor berperan penting sebagai fasilitator, motivator, dan pembimbing dalam proses pembelajaran. Pendampingan tidak hanya sebatas penyampaian materi, tetapi juga membangun hubungan personal yang meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa. Efektivitas pendampingan dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi tutor, strategi pembelajaran, motivasi siswa, serta lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Pendampingan tutor terbukti mampu meningkatkan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik siswa. Selain itu, suasana belajar yang mendukung turut membentuk pengalaman belajar yang positif. Meskipun demikian, tidak semua siswa menunjukkan peningkatan prestasi yang signifikan dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan kompetensi profesional tutor secara berkelanjutan, perencanaan pembelajaran yang lebih baik, serta evaluasi sistematis terhadap strategi pendampingan. Temuan ini diharapkan menjadi acuan praktis dalam pengembangan pendekatan pembelajaran yang personal dan peningkatan dukungan pendidikan di luar sekolah formal.
