Abstract

Reclamation activities are an important effort to restore land function and environmental quality. One of the main challenges in the reclamation process is the high risk of erosion, especially in areas that do not yet have an optimal runoff control system. This study aims to analyze the impact of drainage channels on reducing erosion rates in the reclamation area of PT Dizamatra Powerindo, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra. The methods used include rainfall analysis using the Gumbel method, runoff flow calculation using the rational method, and erosion estimation using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). The results of the study show that before the construction of drainage channels, the actual erosion rate reached 61.74 tons/ha/year. After the design and construction of trapezoidal drainage channels, the erosion rate decreased to 55,63 tons/ha/year, a reduction of 9%. This reduction indicates that a well-designed drainage system can effectively reduce soil loss rates, maintain land stability, and enhance the success of revegetation. Therefore, the presence of an integrated drainage channel is a crucial factor in supporting the sustainable success of mine reclamation.
