Abstract
A Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 65,000 tons per year is planned to be established in 2030 in Bontang City, South Kalimantan Province, with an estimated land area of approximately 1.7285 hectares. The raw materials used for DMC production are Methanol and Ethylene Carbonate. The production process follows Patent US20230365486A1 and employs a transesterification method. The reactor utilized is a Reactive Distillation Column, operating at a temperature of 140°C and a pressure of 4.3 atm. This plant will be established as a Limited Liability Company (PT) and will implement a Line and Staff organizational structure, employing a total of 215 personnel. Based on economic analysis, the DMC plant is considered feasible for development as it meets the established economic viability parameters.: Total Capital Investment : US$ 53.015.439,82 Selling Price per Year : US$ 3.141.809,03 Total Production Cost (TPC) : US$ 27.775.755,88 Pay Out Time (POT) : 1,727 years Rate of Return on Invesment (ROR) : 49,10% Discounted Cash Flow : 51,33% Break Even Point (BEP) : 26,90%
