Abstract
Artificial lifting is a method used to enhance oil production from wells that are unable to naturally flow fluids to the surface. Various types of artificial lift, such as Sucker Rod Pump (SRP) and Electric Submersible Pump (ESP), are selected based on well characteristics and production requirements. The conversion is driven by mechanical limitations and frequent failures of the SRP system, as well as the opportunity to enhance production efficiency. Technical analysis was conducted using the Inflow Performance Relationship (IPR) curve approach with the Vogel method, along with calculations of Pump Intake Pressure (PIP), Total Dynamic Head (TDH), and a comprehensive ESP system design including pump stage selection, motor sizing, cable specification, and gas separator configuration. The results demonstrate that the conversion improves the fluid flow rate from 372 BFPD to an optimal rate of 456 BFPD, and increases oil production from 19 BOPD to 37 BOPD. With a calculated TDH of 1,731.9 ft and a maximum fluid production capacity of 570 BFPD, the study concludes that implementing ESP at well RAA137 is technically feasible and offers a significant improvement in production efficiency. These findings provide valuable insights for optimizing production strategies in mature oil fields.
