Abstract

This study aims to analyze landslide susceptibility in Lubuk Alai Village, Kapur IX District, Lima Puluh Koto, West Sumatra, which has shown an increasing trend in landslide occurrences between 2021 and 2023. The research examines the physiographic characteristics of the area, the distribution of landslide-prone zones, and the level of landslide vulnerability using the Weighted Overlay method in spatial modeling. The methodology involves collecting primary data through field observations and secondary data from relevant institutions, such as rainfall data, soil type, and land cover. The data was processed using ArcGIS 10.6.1 to generate a landslide susceptibility map. The parameters used include lithology, geomorphology, drainage patterns, slope gradient, elevation, soil type, rainfall, and land cover, with each parameter weighted based on its influence level. The analysis results indicate that the study area is predominantly characterized by high landslide susceptibility. The research area is divided into four landform classifications: Low Denudational Hills, Hills, High Hills, and Irregular Meander Channels. The landslide potential map is visualized in three classes low, moderate, and high, with high susceptibility being the most dominant. This study is expected to serve as a guide for landslide disaster mitigation and spatial planning in the region.
