Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the essential abilities that learners must have to face the complex challenges of the 21st century. This ability allows learners to generate new ideas, find various alternative solutions, and develop flexible and original thinking in solving problems. Therefore, it is necessary to develop STEM-based teaching e-modules on impulse and momentum material with the context of karate sports to improve the creative thinking skills of SMA/MA students. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Expert validation showed that the e-module met the criteria of content appropriateness, visual design, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach, integration of 21st century skills, and STEM approach, with the Content Validity Index (CVI) value reaching 100%. The e-module was tested for practicality and effectiveness on students of class XI SMAN 22 Palembang. Practicality test results showed a very positive response from students to the appearance, content, and ease of use of the e-module. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test results showed significant improvement in creative thinking skills, especially in the aspects of fluency (0.89), flexibility (0.85), elaboration (0.59), and originality (0.65) based on Ngain results. The integration of karate moves such as ura mawashi geri and age tsuki proved to be an effective conceptual bridge between physics phenomena and learners' real experiences. Thus, this e-module not only helps conceptual understanding, but also encourages learners to think creatively contextually and applicatively.
