Abstract

Floating shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) cultivation is an innovation that has the potential to be applied on flooded land such as ponds or swamps. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and ZA fertilizer on the agronomic, physiological, and flavonoid characteristics of shallots in the floating cultivation system. The research was conducted in May to July 2024 in Kertapati, Palembang, South Sumatra. The method used was Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with two factors, namely chicken manure fertilizer (0, 1, 2, and 3 kg/plant) and ZA fertilizer (0, 2, 5, and 7 g/plant). The results showed that the combination of 2 kg/plant chicken manure and 5 g/plant ZA fertilizer gave the best results on plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, fresh plant weight, bulb diameter, fresh and air-dried weight of bulbs, number of bulbs, bulb volume, production per hectare, chlorophyll content, and flavonoid content.
