Abstract
Shallots are one of the vegetable commodities that have been intensively cultivated by farmers. This study aims to evaluate the application of chicken manure and potassium sulfate (K₂SO₄) fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) plants cultivated in a floating manner. This research was conducted in Terawas Village, Suku Tengah Lakitan Ulu Terawas District, South Sumatra from May to July 2024. The research method used was Randomized Group Factorial Design (RAKF), consisting of 2 factors, The first factor of chicken manure fertilizer, consisted of P0 = control (without chicken manure fertilizer), P1 = 1 kg chicken manure fertilizer, P2 = 2 kg chicken manure fertilizer, P3 = 3 kg/ha chicken manure fertilizer. The second factor was potassium sulfate fertilizer in from of K₂SO₄, S0 = control (without of K₂SO₄), S1 = K₂SO₄ 100 kg / ha, S2 = K₂SO₄ 200 kg / ha, S3 = K₂SO₄ 300 kg / ha with 3 replicates, so that each replicate has 3 plants so that 144 plant units are obtained. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, shoot fresh weight, bulb diameter, fresh bulb weight, air ried bulb weight, root length, bulb length, number of bulbs, bulb volume, estimated production, chlorophyll analysis and flavonoid content. The results showed that the application of chicken manure fertilizer 2kg/ha and potassium sulfate (K2S04) 200kg/ha gave the best effect on shallot plants. Keywords: chicken manure, shallot, potassium sulfate (K₂SO₄), floating cultivation
