Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Nearpod on students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in the material of environmental change. The research method used is a quasi-experimental and pre-experimental with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 10 Palembang. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class X.8 (n = 24) as the experimental class using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Nearpod and class X.6 (n = 23) as the control class using the Problem Based Learning model. The hypothesis test used ANOVA to measure the comparison of critical thinking skills between the experimental class and the control class, and ANCOVA hypothesis testing to measure the comparison of cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. The research results show that the critical thinking skills of the students in the ANOVA test obtained a Sig. value of 0.023 < 0.05 and the cognitive learning outcomes of the students in the ANCOVA test obtained a Sig. value of 0.042 < 0.05. The results of this study show that most of the students are able to think critically well and achieve the set standards of learning achievement.
