Abstract

Operational safety in electrospinning machines is crucial due to the high-voltage electricity involved, which poses significant risks to operators. This study aims to design and implement an automatic door interlock system based on the ACS712 current sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, and electromagnetic lock (maglock). The system operates by detecting the electrical current of the machine; when the current exceeds the threshold of 50 mA, the chamber door automatically locks to prevent access during operation. Testing was conducted in a laboratory-scale setup using simulated current loads to represent active and inactive machine states. The calibration results of the ACS712 sensor demonstrated high accuracy with less than 1% error and stable precision across various test points (120 mA, 210 mA, and 330 mA). The system also exhibited a fast response time ranging from 4 to 10 milliseconds, confirming its capability to respond to real-time status changes of the machine. With a simple yet effective design, this system successfully enhances operational safety in electrospinning applications and has strong potential for further implementation in industrial environments with improved protection and remote monitoring integration.
