Abstract
Local wisdom-based teaching materials containing flipbook descriptive text material for junior high school students have been developed. The purpose of this research was to produce valid, practical and effective teaching materials. This developmental research followed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The validation results carried out by media experts (93.3%), material experts (98.3%) and language experts (91.6%) produced an average validity score of 94.4%, which is included in the very valid category. Practicality was tested through student responses, showing an average practicality score of 93.7%, also in the very practical category. Implementation was conducted at one of the public junior high schools in Lahat Regency, and effectiveness was measured through field trials through pretest and posttest. The results showed an increase in the average score of students from 51.33 in the pretest to 88.33 in the posttest, with an N-Gain value of 0.79, which is included in the high category. This flipbook proved effective in improving student learning outcomes. With its animated features, this media supports engaging and contextually relevant learning. This study recommends the broader use of flipbooks as innovative teaching materials that foster student learning interests.
