Abstract

The city of Palembang is one of the city with resident that have great interest in the performing arts of music and theatre. From 2013-2019 in Palembang, there are 80 events that had been held, with 3 of it is held by international musician. Theatre show is also one of the showing arts that had it’s place in the youth community in the city, it is supported by dulmuluk that is a form traditional theatre from Palembang. But, from all of the shows and events that had been held, a lot of the place or venue is not suitable for middle to big scale events. One of example is the events was held in café or frontyard of the government office building. Thus making it affecting the comfort level of the audience. Because of the reasons above the planning and designing of this building is an architectural solution to create a place that can be use for watching music and theatre comfortably. The approach for the design is using accousic comfort as the concept and reference. So the space organization, form massing, and material detail in the design are the results of acoustic comfort in the building as the concept.
