Abstract

This research was aims to know the effect of liquid fertilizer on Nitrogen Efficiency of paddy and ratoon in tidal lowland. Research was done in plastic house in the trail field at Faculty of Agriculture and soil analysis was done in Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility Laboratory, Soil Science Department Faculty Of Agriculture Sriwijaya University. Activity began on August to December 2014. The method used was Randomized Factorial with two factors: 1) dose of liquid fertilizer; 96 ml per pot (P1), 120 ml per pot (P2), and 144 ml per pot (P3). 2) Period of giving the liquid fertilizer; once time given at the beginning of planting (W1), two times given at the beginning of planting and harvest period (W2), and three times given at the beginning of planting, primordial stage, and harvest period (W3). Collected data emsisted of dry biomass, and content in the dry matter, Nitrogen absorbed in the plant, and Nitrogen efficiency on main paddy and ratoon. The result of soil analysis at the beginning period has low fertility rates that characterized by the acidity level of the soil is very acidic, the content of C-organic very high, the content of N-total is medium, P-bray is relatively very low, and the CEC are classified high. The dose of 96 ml pot-1and two times given at the beginning of planting and harvest period was the best treatment in increasing nitrogen adsorbtion of main paddy is 326,55. The dose of 96 ml pot-1and three times given at the beginning of planting, primordia and harvest period was the best treatment to increased nitrogen efficiency of main paddy is 39,32 %. The dose of 144 ml pot-1and two times given at the beginning of planting and harvest period was the best treatment to increased nitrogen adsorbtion of ratoon is 95,97. The dose of 144 ml pot-1and once given at the beginning of planting was the best treatment to increased nitrogen efficiency of ratoon is 26,11 %.
