Abstract

specimen by performing several stages of testing them in the form of Chemical composilion testing, the specimen thickness using a thickness ultrasonic, corrosion rate, testing the age of fraeture with the increase in the degree of fatigue from previous research, microstructure observalion and reinforeed by SEM. In this test Steel specimens with the type of SS400 in shape with dimensions of 20 mm x 30 mm were used for the corrosion test and the specimen was formed to test the age of fraetures with Standard JIS Z 2273 as much as each of the 5 specimens then specimens was performed hot dipp by dipping the Steel into aluminum 750°C temperature Iiquid with variations without dying, hot dipp I minute, and hot dipp 3 minutes. After hot dipp test specimen in thickness and corrosion testing for 10 days with a total immersion method, the specimen is done weighing before and after the corrosion test. Then there are specimens that tested the microstructure of each variation. To test the age of fraetures is done by using 2° increase from previous research that uses 1° which specimens in paeks containing media corrosive sea water, the test results are best done SEM analysis, from the SEM analysis it can be seen that there are a lot of produets of corrosion in the raw materials, fraeture the specimen layer raw material (without treatment), fraeturing the specimen Steel for hot dipp, and a thick layer on the surface.
