Abstract
Overhead crane is lifting mechanism combined separately with order to lift at the same time move the payload that can be hung loosely or tied on the crane itself. Overhead crane primarily serves as a lifter, also serves as a transporter of goods transferred though limited only in environments that are not too large (in the room). But the overhead crane works very effectively because his movement can go forward-back and left-to-right (Rudenko, 1996). At this time the research was conducted regarding the maximum deflection testing that occurs on a girder overhead crane with a load of 7.5Ton using solidworks Software 2016 trial, the test was done with 3 different types of load, i.e. 100%; 125%; and 150%. Overhead crane is made from st37 material, i.e. Steel with tensile strength of 37 kg/mm2. The process starts by making an overhead crane in the locked position or fixed, then the loadtest is placed exactly on the position of the Central girder overhead crane. The load varies according to the test procedure. To get the test results that are desired, associate a test with load hook overhead crane and begin the process of adoption. VVhen the load test has been raised, hold for aboui 10 minutes then measure the deflection. It is also done to others loadtest. The test results showed different deflection for each load transport. For the test of 100% load the maximum deflection is 18. 344mm, 125% load the maximum deflection is 21,915mm and for 150% load the maximum deflection is 25,487mm. Not only did the testing with the use of solidworks, but also using the manual calculation in accordance with accurale data results in the field, there is a small difference between experimenting with solidworks and manual calculations, i.e. 1, 104mm to load 100%, 0, 365mm for a load of 125%, and 0, 373mm for a load of 150%. In addition to the above experiment, i n accordance with the manual book overhead crane owned by PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja that maximum allowed deflection on the girder was 23 mm, writers have experimented with the result that the maximum deflection occurred at 133.41% load.
