Abstract

The cooling load is the amount ofheat energy thal needs to be removed from space cooling lo maintain the temperature within the range of acceptable. Heating and cooling loads, or "thermal burden", taking into account the construction and insulation, including fioors, walls, ceilings, and roofs. Air conditioning is the treatment of the air to set the temperature, humidity, cleanness and its distribution simultaneously in order to achieve comfortable conditions needed by people who are in a room. In addition, air conditioning can be defined a process cools the air so thal it reaches the ideal temperature and humidity. There are many factors that determine the cooling load on an air conditioning. These factors have an impact to system capacity, control, and design, as well as the placement of the air duet system, or the terminal units. For example, warm units under a window or along the outer wali can overcome the influence of low temperature from the surface-the surface. The transfer of heat through a veil of buildings affected by the type of materials used, by the geometric factors, such as size, shape, and orientation, the presence of heat sources with, and elimatie factors. The calculation of cooling load can be oblained from the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals 1997. The procedures for this calculation can produce an air management system that is too large, resulting in less efficicnt in usage. With the increasing magnitude of the costs of energy consumplion then the more necd to hold system oplimization settings of the air of a building or buildings shall be calculated from the time of time dynamically. in general the cooling load of a building there are 2 kinds of sensible load and load that is latent. Sensible and latenl loads that is derived from the outside cooling load (extemal cooling load) and cooling load in (internal cooling load). To achieve the goal of this research is to analyze the engine capacity air conditioner the righl to use the auditorium so thal it feels comfortable. Find out how large the contribution each extemal and internal factors to the total cooling load. There are severai factors that affect the cooling load i.e. internal factors (roof, walls, glass, and partitions), extemal factors xvii V (residents, lighting, and appliances), ventilation and infillration. The total cooling load at extemal factors were obtained ol 110267.144 W at 16.00 to heat and internal load of sensibly 84647.06 W for heat sensible and latent heat to 35350 W. Ventilation load on IE of heat for sensibel 30996 W and W for latent heat 101136. Calculation Of the children are then obtained a load of coolant the building of the auditorium of the Facuity of Economics University of Sriwijaya are amounting to 380516.0142 W or 1298374.5341 Btu/h. So we get the air conditioning capacity for the building of the auditorium is 108.198 TR or 144.26 PK. 10 Keywords : Cooling load temperature difference, CLTD, latent, sensible.
