Abstract
The durian opener is a tool with Stainless Steel material that used to open durian, operated manually hy hand to pressing lever with out hold the durian. Structural design and simulation analysis of the strength structures of this instrument using a Computer program Solid Works 2010. Structural strength analysis done of Von Mises stress, displacement, and Factor of Safety. From the results of simulation structural strength analysis ohtained Maximum Von Mises stress value is 2.037.863,4 N/m2 on the pivol, maximum displacement at the Balsa Wood is 3,825 x 10 mm which is considered as a suhstitute for the durian fruit, Factor of Safety maximum is 100 while the minimum value is 84,57. The test results demonstrate tools the fastest time to open a durian is 9 seconds and the longest to open a durian is 14 seconds. Keywords: Design, durian opener, strength structure.
