Abstract

The use of production factors with the right dosage in cassava cultivation can affect cassava production. The efficiency of the use of each production factor needs to be achieved to optimize production and income in cassava cultivation. This study aims to (1) analyze the difference in the income level of cassava cultivation in farmers who use and do not use cassava NPK. (2) analyze production factors that affect cassava cultivation in farmers who use and do not use NPK cassava. (3) analyze the level of efficiency of the use of cassava cultivation production factors in farmers who use and do not use cassava NPK. The selection of the research location used the purposive sampling method while the sample withdrawal used the Disproportional Stratified Random Sampling method. The population in this study is 233 farmers in Purwa Jaya Village and 292 farmers in Mekar Jaya Village. Based on the adjusted characteristics of respondents, respondents were 50 cassava farmers who used NPK cassava fertilizer and 50 respondents who did not use NPK cassava fertilizer. Primary data in this study were collected through surveys using questionnaires and analyzed using independent t-tests and regressions with the function of Cobb-Douglas type production equations. The results of the study show that the income in cassava cultivation using Pusri cassava NPK fertilizer is Rp22,795,110.17 /ha/year. Meanwhile, income in cassava cultivation using Non Cassava NPK fertilizer amounted to IDR 18,697,843.97 ha/year. The results of the independent t-test analysis showed that there was a difference in the average income of cassava cultivation using NPK Pusri cassava and non-cassava fertilizers. Regression analysis showed the results that in cassava farming that uses Cassava NPK fertilizer, the factors that significantly affect cassava production are land area, seeds, urea fertilizer and Cassava NPK fertilizer. In cassava farming that uses Non Cassava NPK fertilizer, it was found that the factors that significantly affect cassava production are land area, seeds, urea fertilizer, and farming experience. In cassava farming using Cassava and non-cassava NPK fertilizers, technically efficient production factors are land area, seeds, urea fertilizers, Cassava NPK fertilizers, organic fertilizers, insecticides, and labor are included in the efficient category. Meanwhile, the herbicide production factor is inefficient. In economic efficiency, the use of seed production factors is not efficient, while other production factors are inefficient.
