Abstract

PEA ( Poly Ether Amine ) is an additive t ha t is being widely developed because i t can improve the cjuality of the fuel. This researches was conducted by adding 5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml, 20 ml, and 25 ml ofPEA per liter of premium. Tests carried out on a motorcycle Jupiter MX 135 cc with research variables are speed atid revolution of the engine. From these results i t appears that the addition of 15 ml of PEA is better produces heating value, fuel consumption, the rate of vehicle speed, and exhaust emissions. Calorific values obtained which is equal to 10415.405 cal/g, an increase of 479.4106 cal/g than pure premium. Produces a decrease in fuel consumption where the greatest savings occur 8 km/l at any speed variation, rather than when the use of pure premium. For the result of the rate vehicle speed tes t we got rate average speed of 10.30 seconds, 1.23 seconds faster than when using pure premium. At levels of CO and HC produces a relatively steady decrease compared to the use of pure premium where a decline of 0.025 % CO and 1254 ppm HC at engine speed of 1500 rpm, a decrease of 0.728 % CO and 662 ppm HC a t engine speed of 3000 rpm, and a decrease of 1.217 % CO and 302ppm HC at engine speed of4500 rpm.
