Abstract
The utilization restriction of Chlorofluorocarbons refrigerant (CFC, HFC, etc.) that is regulated by govemment regulations, the impact of these rules cause problems on old refrigerator that usually uses Chlorofluorocarbons refrigerant (R 12, R 22, R 134a, etc.). In order to use the refrigerator, its cooling box can be replaced by its refrigerant environmentally friendly. Refrigerant replacement causes the refrigeration system performance has changed. Performance changing can be overcome by replacing/ modifying the compressor and the expansion device appropriate to the characteristics of replacement refrigerant. Compressor design changing is too complicated and expensive. One of the tools commonly used for the expansion of a small refrigerator / household is capillary tube. Therefore, a change in the dimensions of the capillary tube is preferred to compensate for the cooling system performance. The selection of the proper size capillary tube will produce optimal performance. Getting longer the capillary tube that is used in refrigerator/ cooling box produces cooling room temperature and cooling load temperature lower. Musicool MC- 134 refrigerant produces cooling room temperature and cooling load temperature lower than the HFC R-134a refrigerant. The rate of decrease of room temperature and cooling load the Musicool MC-134 refrigerant faster than the rate of temperature decrease on HFC R-134a refrigerant. Cooling room temperature (10°C) and cooling load (12°C) while the lowest achievable refrigerator/ cooling box wearing MC-134 refrigerant with the length of capillary tube is 180 cm. on Keywords: Cooling box refrigerator, musicool MC-134, HFC R-134a, temperature of cooling room, cooling load temperature, the reduction of temperature
