Abstract

Gapoktan is a combination of several formally established farmer groups, which have common goals in developing farming and strengthening farmer institutions. The purpose of the establishment of Gapoktan (Farmer Group Association) is to form an independent character of farmers in rural areas. The role of Gapoktan needs to be encouraged to increase development, especially in agriculture. One agricultural commodity that plays an important role is rice. Banyuasin is the district that produces the highest rice in South Sumatra. Telang Sari Village is one of the villages in Tanjung Lago sub-district of Banyuasin Regency where the majority of the population earns a living as rice farmers. The objectives of this study are (1) to analyze the role of Gapoktan in Telang Sari Village, (2) to calculate the production and income of rice farming produced by farmers who are members of Gapoktan in Telang Sari Village, (3) to analyze the relationship between the role of Gapoktan and the production and income of rice farming in Telang Sari Village. Data collection was carried out in September 2024. The methods used are survey and observation methods. sampling was carried out using probability techniques using the Slovin formula, a sample of 85 from a population of 544. The results of this study indicate that the role of Gapoktan in Telang Sari Village is quite instrumental or in moderate criteria. The average production of rice farming is 7,791kg per season and the average income of rice farming is IDR 30.594.968 cultivated area per cropping season. Based on statistical tests of the role of Gapoktan with production, there is a positive relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.43. The role of Gapoktan with corn farming income in Telang Sari Village has a positive relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.469 medium criteria. There is a strong positive and significant correlation with production and income, with a correlation coefficient of Rs= 0,685
