Abstract
The potential of renewable energy sources in indonesia is very large. The optimal and effective utilization believed will help to resolve the crisis of energy and problems in the use of conventional energy sources such as fuel supply and the negative effects on the environment. One of the renewable energy is geothermal energy. Geothermal energy is a hot energy the stored in rocks under the earth’s surface and the fluidthat contained therein. A relatively geothermal energy does not create the pollution and spread through in indonesian island actually is one of the right energy to be used in energy generator in order to satisfy part of the national needs are likely continue to rise. In the operation of power plants geothermal system there is a problem on steam prodction. The conditions of brine ( geothermal fluid ) has a very high silica content, so in the process of silica production can cause the scaling in pipes production.Where the silica can precipitate within pipeline production which resulting in the reduced of pipe’s diameter if the silica does not dissolve in the brine, thus inhibiting the flow of geothermal fluid in the piping.The reduced of pipe’s diameter can affect the value of the electrical energy that already produced. The purpose of the study was to analyze the electrical energy that produced on PLTP, after doing the analysis the result compared with the electrical energy based on the field’s data was recorded in the control room. The results of electrical energy calculation is 53,47 MW while the electrical energy that produced and recorded in the control room is 54,02 MW it can be said the result is already approaching to actual value in the field. Study is also conducted the seperator pressure variations beetween 7,0 bar to 8,0 bar. The seperator pressure variations in order to see how big the influence on the electrical energy that already produced. After calculation , the seperator pressure variations shows that the Iower the pressure the greater the electrical energy that already produced. Therefore, seperator pressure variations can not use to review the optimum the electrical energy that already produced. In this study also analyzed is cycles that is used on PLTP has the potential for crust (silica scaling). The analysis was conducted using fournier method, Di pippo method, and the method of SSI (Silica Scaling lndex). The fournier method shows that the silica conlent is 599 ppm, the saturation temperature is 150°C while the method of Di pippo shows that the saturation temperature from silica is 148°C. By reviewing seperator temperature is operated on temperature of 170 °C, it can be said that the cycles that is used do not have the potential for crust. While using the method of SSI ,if the value of SSI that is obtained with the spesific silica content > 1 so the cycles that is used can cause the potential crust, and if the value of SSI that obtained < 1 so the cycles that is used can be said safe from potential scale or silica scaling. After the analysis, finally is obtained the score of SSI is 0,845 then with this method can be said that the cycles that is used on PLTP does not have the potential for crust.
