Abstract
The objective of the study was to design and construction of cafetaria garden in Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University by using Minimalist Concept. The minimalist concept is attendance of the garden in minimalist buildings and narrow locations. The minimalist concept can be use in spacious locations, because of that minimalist concept not too much to using decorative plant and more feature function in its construction. The methods was using in the study were observation and survey. The Methods of observation is made to obtain physical data such as land measurement, land form, and vegetation in the study locations. The methods of survey is made to obtain information with the questionnaire system before the construction of the garden and after the constuction of the garden to respondent of agriculture academic community. The planning of the garden is minimalist concept that combining with the theme of Back to Nature. The theme of back to nature is taken based the result of observation and survey before the construction of the garden. The result of observation in the study locations have found retention pond, unlevel ground countours, and vegetation of trees. The result of questionnaire before the construction of the garden obtained 83% of respondent chosenminimalist concept with combining the theme of Back to Nature. The construction of the garden with minimalist concept that combining with the theme of Back to Nature appearanced by structuring of the plant that more featured function in cafetaria building, extra seating, improvement ground countours, reforming ground countours, retention pond as focal point and as a shade of the tree. The result of questionnaire after the constuction of the Garden obtained 90% of academicians respondent strongly agree to the construction of the garden by minimalist concept was suitable for cafetaria in Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University.
