Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of the tourism sector on the regional own-source revenue (PAD) of regencies and municipalities in West Sumatra. The data used in this research are panel data from 19 regencies/municipalities in West Sumatra Province for the period 2017–2023. The analytical technique employed is panel data regression using the Random Effect Model (REM) approach, along with individual analysis results for the 19 regencies/municipalities in West Sumatra. The results indicate that the number of tourist visits and the number of restaurants have a positive and significant effect, whereas the number of accommodations does not have a significant effect on the regional own-source revenue in the 19 regencies/municipalities of West Sumatra Province during 2017–2023.
