Abstract

Education is very important in Indonesia. The education pathway consists of three pathways, which are normal, non – formal, and information pathway. Information education is a path of family and environmental education. In the city of Palembang already has several recreational and educational facilities to support family and environmental education, however there are still very few tourist sites specifically for education and recreation for children and teenagers. In this case of planning a Center for Learning and Activities for Children and Teenagers could help the growth and development. That every child has the right to receive educational services according to their talents, interest, ability to play with their age, take a rest and take an advantage of free time, play, be creative for its development. The learning and activities center for children and teenagers provided does not only function as a place for recreational and educational activities that play a role in increasing knowledge and experience, so as to help increase the creativity of children and teenagers in the city of Palembang. Applying a functional approach and the concept of modern architecture and the application of circulation, namely, linear circulation so that it affects the shape of the building and can provide good space to support learning and play activities of visitors.
