Abstract
PT Semen Baturaja Tbk is a company engaged in limestone mining and cement production, where blasting is the method used to fragment limestone. The location of Pit Baturaja 1 is approximately 250-500 meters from the residential areas of Pusar Village and Talang Jawa Village. The ground vibration and noise generated by blasting activities still cause discomfort to the residents. PT Semen Baturaja Tbk has set a threshold limit for Peak Vector Sum (PVS) at 2 mm/s - 5 mm/s and a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) threshold of <120 dB. Ground vibration and air blast measurements were taken using a Micromate III device, then processed using Microsoft Excel and power regression analysis. The threshold limit for Peak Vector Sum has not yet been fully met, as some values still exceed the limit, with the highest recorded PVS value at 3.82 mm/s. Meanwhile, the air blast measurements comply with the standard, as the highest Sound Pressure Level recorded was 80.4 dB. An analysis and recommendation for the explosive charge quantity are required to achieve a combination of Peak Vector Sum <2 mm/s and Sound Pressure Level <120 dB. The analysis established a relationship between explosive charge and ground vibration as well as air blast using power regression, yielding a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.9126 for ground vibration and 0.6685 for air blast. This indicates a strong correlation for ground vibration and a moderate correlation for air blast. Based on the analysis, the recommended explosive charge at a distance of 300 m is 13 kg, at 400 m is 23 kg, at 500 m is 36 kg, at 600 m is 62 kg, at 700 m is 71 kg, and at 800 m is 93 kg.
