Abstract
This research aims to study and conduct chemical characterization of fly ash coal with regard to its potential as a substitute for agricultural lime, study the influence of fly ash coal based doses on the growth of maize plants and study the influence of fly ash coal as a substitute for agricultural lime to availability K Ultisol and K uptake of corn plants. This research was conducted in Green house Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya in September 2015 to May 2016. The study was arranged according to Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 3 replicates, so there are 21 polybag trial. Fly ash dose mixture of coal and agricultural lime applied was equivalent dose of 1.5 x Al-dd. Coal fly ash dosage determined by neutralization power (equivalent CaCO3 / CCE). Results CaCO3 / CCE on abuterbang analysis of coal was 27.40%. Variables observed consisted of 1) Availability K Utisol, 2) K nutrient uptake of maize, and 3) the weight of the corn crop stover. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by least significant difference test (LSD) level of 5 %. The results showed that the fly ash coal and agricultural lime dose is the best treatment against K availability Ultisol in treatment T2 is 80% fly ash coal and 20% limestone agricultural and influence dosage of 20% fly ash coal and 80% of agricultural lime to the uptake of K corn plants tend to be higher than the other treatments with a 0.0491% increase compared with no treatment.
