Abstract

ABSTRACT There are various technologies used in drying processes, one of which is drying using a combustion furnace that utilizes the heating of metals or materials to alter the shape or properties of a material through heat treatment. This study aims to analyse the financial feasibility of using a multi-level combustion furnace as an alternative grain drying tool, specifically designed for small and medium scale farmers. The testing was conducted at the Agricultural Technology Workshop, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, from January to June 2025. The method used was descriptive, with data collection techniques including direct observation, market price surveys, and literature reviews. The financial analysis results indicate that the multi-stage combustion furnace machine has an annual total cost of Rp 34.312.996 and an annual revenue of Rp 37.44.000 in the first year, and Rp 46.800.000 in the second year and beyond. Feasibility evaluation was conducted using the parameters NPV, Gross B/C Ratio, IRR, BEP, and PP. The results indicate that the NPV is Rp 83.075.248 (positive), the Gross B/C Ratio is 1.32 (feasible), the IRR is 23%, while the benchmark interest rate is 6%. The Break-Even Point (BEP) is achieved at a production unit of 11.349,45 kg/year, with a BEP production price of Rp.7.944,68. The payback period (PP) is 1,586 years or 330 days for capital recovery after operation. Overall, this project is viable and financially profitable. This investment also provides additional benefits in the form of energy efficiency and alternative drying solutions during the rainy season. ABSTRAK Terdapat banyak teknologi yang digunakan dalam pengeringan, salah satu nya adalah pengeringan dengan menggunakan Tungku Pembakaran yang memanfaatkan pemanasan logam atau material, yang berfungsi sebagai pengubah bentuk atau sifat suatu logam atau bahan yang disebabkan oleh perlakuan panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan finansial penggunaan mesin tungku pembakaran bertingkat sebagai alat pengering gabah alternatif, yang dirancang khusus untuk petani skala kecil dan menengah. Pengujian dilakukan di Bengkel Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya, selama periode Januari hingga Juni 2025. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung, survei harga pasar, dan studi pustaka.Hasil analisis finansial menunjukkan bahwa mesin tungku pembakaran bertingkat memiliki total biaya tahunan sebesar Rp 34.312.996 dan penerimaan tahunan pertama sebesar Rp.37.440.000, tahun ke dua dan seterusnya sebesar Rp 46.800.000. Evaluasi kelayakan menggunakan parameter NPV, Gross B/C Ratio, IRR, BEP dan PP. Menunjukkan bahwa NPV sebesar Rp 83.075.248 (positif), Gross B/C Ratio sebesar 1,32 (layak), IRR sebesar 23%, sedangkan suku bunga acuan adalah 6%, Break Even Point (BEP) tercapai pada unit produksi 11.349,45 kg/tahun, BEP harga produksi Rp.7.944,68. PP sebesar 1,586 tahun atau 330 hari untuk balik modal setelah beroperasi. Secara keseluruhan, proyek ini layak dan menguntungkan secara finansial, Investasi ini juga memberikan manfaat tambahan dalam bentuk efisiensi energi dan solusi alternatif pengeringan saat musim hujan.
