Abstract

Ln order to avoid unexpected work accidents it is necessary to prevent such risks. In addition to providing self-waming and explanation to the workers, of course needed a support tool to reduce the risk o f accidents, one of them by using personal protective equipment (PPE). The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the effect of the relationship o f the use of personal protective equipment against the risk of work accident on the construction project of Musi IV bridge and Musi VI bridge in the city of Palembang. The method used in this research is quantitative. By using questionnaires to perform data collection. This study used a sample of 35 respondents for the construction project of Musi IV bridge and 34 people for the construction project of Musi VI bridge. Data Processing is done by scoring method and firstly tested the validity and reliability, then fiirther tested by using correlation test and non linear regression analysis. Based on the data processing done got the effect of the relationship between the use of personal protective equipment against the risk of work accidents on the construction project Musi IV bridge with a correlation coefficient of 0.3680 and the coefficient of determination of 0.1354. For the construction project of Musi VI bridge with correlation coefficient value of 0,5706 and coefficient of determination equal to 0,3256.
