Abstract

This study is entitled "Analysis of Public Relations and Protocol Staff Performance of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD." This study was motivated by the lack of optimal and disciplined work carried out by public relations and protocol staff of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of public relations and protocol staff. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through interviews with public relations and protocol staff of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD and the Chairperson of the South Sumatra Indonesian National Movement Non-Governmental Organization. Secondary data were obtained through literature or documentary data in the public relations and protocol section of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD. The analysis technique used in this study is qualitative with observation, interview, and documentation methods. The results of this study indicate that the performance of public relations and protocol staff of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD has been running quite optimally. This is supported by several principles of employee performance according to Bernardin and Russel, namely quality, quantity, timeliness, cost effectiveness, need for supervision, and interpersonal relationships. This research is expected to optimize and improve the discipline of public relations and protocol employees of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD by carrying out activities in an ideal and motivated manner, being able to resolve problems with appropriate provisions, improving performance evaluation, taking solutions to things that have not been achieved, and establishing communication between fellow employees.
