Abstract

A potassium sulfate plant is planned for construction in the Sukasejati area, South Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The facility will cover an area of 2.5 hectares with a production capacity of 30,000 tons per year. The process utilizes a double decomposition (metathesis) reaction, which involves mixing potassium chloride solution and ammonium sulfate solution in a Mixed Flow Reactor (R-01) at a temperature of 60 ∘C and a pressure of 1 atm. The metathesis reaction mechanism is as follows: 2 KCl + (NH4)2SO4 → K2SO4 + 2 NH4Cl The chosen business entity is a Limited Liability Company (LLC) with a line and staff organizational structure. Daily operations will be led by a main director, and the plant will be run by 190 employees. Based on the economic analysis, the potassium sulfate plant is considered feasible for establishment with the following details: Total Capital Investment (TCI): $41,554,811.46 Annual Selling Price: $98,183,835.90 Total Production Cost (TPC): $58,766,107.57 Annual Cash Flow (ACF): $24,701,918.68 Pay Out Time (POT): 1.57 years Rate of Return on Investment (ROR): 52.17% Discounted Cash Flow ROR (DCF-ROR): 59.09% Break Even Point (BEP): 32.33% Service Life: 11 years Keywords: Potassium Sulfate, Mixed Flow Reactor, Metathesis Reaction
