Abstract
Application of Cockle (Anadara granosa) Shell Lime with Different Size Percentages in Swamp Water for Pangasius Catfish (Pangasius sp.) Rearing Media (Supervised by DADE JUBAEDAH). The optimal pH value for pangasius catfish culture is 6.5-8.5. One of the efforts to increase pH value of swamp water that has low pH value is by liming. Lime is composed of different particle sizes. This research aims to determine the best particle size percentage of cockle shells lime as an effort to increase the pH of swamp water, as well as it is effect on the survival and growth of pangasius catfish. This research carried out at the Aquaculture and Experimental Ponds Laboratory Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya, from January to February 2025. This research uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and three replications. The treatment consist of calcite lime as a control with a percentage of retained lime at 10 mesh 20.7%, 20 mesh 22.7%, 60 mesh 55.3%, and passed 60 mesh 1.3% (Po), cockle shells lime with retained on 10 mesh 40%, 20 mesh 20%, 60 mesh 20%, and passed 60 mesh 20% (P1), retained on 10 mesh 20%, 20 mesh 40%, 60 mesh 20%, and passed 60 mesh 20% (P2), retained on 10 mesh 20%, 20 mesh 20%, 60 mesh 40%, and passed 60 mesh 20% (P3), retained on 10 mesh 20%, 20 mesh 20%, 60 mesh 20%, and passed 60 mesh 40% (P4), retained on 10 mesh 20.7%, 20 mesh 22.7%, 60 mesh 55.3%, and passed 60 mesh 1.3% (P5). Pangasius catfish with initial size of 5±0.5 cm of length with a stocking density of 100 fish m-3 reared for 30 days. The results showed the application of cockle shell lime with different size percentages retained on 10 mesh 20%, retained on 20 mesh 20%, retained on 60 mesh 40%, passed 60 mesh 20% (P3) was the best treatment that can increase the swamp water pH from 5.0 to 7.87, absolute growth of weight and length of 8.14 g and 5.82 cm respectively, survival rate 96.67%, and feed efficiency 76.18%.
