Abstract

Hard coral are found many in the Kelagian island waters, but the information that obtained still limited. The aims of this research were to determine the types and the coverage percentage of hard coral, to analyze the biodiversity of hard coral based on the variation of depth and to analyze the relationship between the coverage percentage of hard coral with physical-chemical parameter of waters. The method of this study were purposive sampling method with quadratic transek that analyzed with four stations based on variation of depth and analyzed by CPCe, the correllations of waters quality for coverage of hard coral analyzed with PCA. The results showed that the physical-chemical parameters still tolerable for hard coral growth. The coverage percentage of coral showed the condition of hard corals in 4 stations at 5m and 10m depth were in a good and very good categories. The value of biodiversity catagorized between low to medium, diversity values were categorized into distressed communities and although others were stable communities. The value of dominance showed only at 1 and 2 sites at a depth 10 m had the dominant growth types. The relationship between physic-chemical parameters with biodiversity of hard coral indicates that at 5m depth with the characterized of phosfate, DCA, hard coral and HC, where as at 10m depth with the characterized of salinity and HC. Overall analized of PCA were characterized of DCA, HC, phosfate and pH waters.
