Abstract
This research aims to determine how the role of industry practices in supporting the implementation of engineering education student PPL FKIP Unsri. The population in this research were 39 students class of 2009 who did activity in industry practices and they came from the students of Mechanical Engineering Education. The sample in this research were 30 students of Mechanical Engineering Education class of 2009, the other sample to reinforce has in research were tutors from SMK 1 Indralaya Utara, SMK PGRI Tanjung Raja, and SMK Y.P Gajah Mada Palembang. This research method was descriptive qualitative, the data collection tool that used were a questionnaire had been tested it validity and interview techniques for tutors. Technical data analysis used a analysis likert scale. The result showed that the role of industry practices in supporting the implementation of the PPL student of Mechanical engineering department of education FKIP Unsri is Positive. It’s showed at the result values that had been reached from the student questionnaires is 90,8 (categories strongly agree) with values interval from 30 – 120. Similarly, the result values that had been reached from the tutors questionnaires is 45,4 (categories strongly agree) with values interval from 14 – 56. This is evident from the discussion of the student questionnaires, discussion of tutors questionnaires, discussion and interviews result with the tutors.
