Abstract
The objective of the research was to know the effect of liquid organic fertilizer and optimum rate of urea at second application on productivty of nutrient efficient maize genotype B 52953. The research was conducted from December 2016 untill March 2017 at the experimental station of Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatera. The research used Split Plot Design with three replications. The main plots were: E1: used liquid organic fertilizer and E2: without liquid organic fertilizer and the sub plots were rate of urea A1: 0; A2: 75; A3: 150; A4: 225; A5: 300 kg per ha. The results showed that generally, application of Liquid Organic Fertilizer did not increase growth and yield. Increasing the rate of second Urea from 0 to 150 kg per ha tended to increase plant height, leaf greenest, yield and yield components but further increase in rate of second urea up to 300 kg per ha tended to decrease all the variables. The rate of urea gave the highest yield was 150 kg per ha (250 kg per ha total rate of urea fertilizer) with 91 g dry ear weigh, 57 g dry seed per ear and 6.4 ton per ha ear weigh per hectare.
