Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine the combination dose of liquid fertilizer and soil texture to absorb by corn plant that can minimize Magnesium nutrient leaching. This research has been conducted in the glass house and in the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology, and Soil Fertility, Soil Department, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This research began on January 2014 and finished on April 2014. The method of this research used Factorial Complete Randomized Design with 2 factors that were 1) dose of liquid fertilizer, P0 :without fertilizer, P1 : 10 ml, P2 : 20 ml, P3 : 30 ml, dan P4 : 40 ml, 2) soil textures, T1 : sandy loam, T2 : sandy clay. The parameters observed were Leached of Magnesium and Magnesium absorb by corn plant. Based on the research that has been known Magnesium leached higher on sandy loam than samdy clay and the highest Magnesium absorb by corn plant was in 30 ml dose on sandy clay. Whereas on the sandy loam the highest Magnesium absorb by corn plant on dose of 40 ml. From these research are known combination dose of 30 ml of liquid fertilizer and sandy clay could increase Magnesium absorb by corn plant and minimize the leached of Magnesium
