Abstract

Litter size or number of births on goats can be used as an indicator of high milk production.The purpose of this research was to determine the number of litter size on the production and quality of goat milk Peranakan Etawa.The research was held from September to November 2016 at Balai Besar Pembibitan Ternak Unggul dan Hijauan Pakan Ternak, Baturraden Jawa Tengah. The statistical on this research used T test analyze with 2 treatments and 20 replications. Parameters observed included milk production, milk protein, milk lactose, milk fat, and solid non fat. The results showed that the amount of litter size was significantly different (P <0,05) to milk production, milk protein, milk lactose, milk fat, and solid non fat. The conclusion of this research that litter size two have higher milk production than with litter size one, on milk quality the litter size two have different value of milk quality (protein, fat, Solid Non Fat, and lactose) than the litter size one.
