Abstract
Dates are plants that can grow in various climates, one of which is a tropical climate like Indonesia. In the propagation of date palm plants can be sown through seeds, then seeds aged 1 month are separated into polybags. Seeding in polybags can be done in a floating and different ways of providing water. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of briquette compost application and how to provide water to N-soil, N-plants, C-organics, and the growth of date palm seedlings in floating farming systems. This study uses a Split Plot Design Method with the main plot, namely the method of water supply (submerging and diffusion) with subplots is a combination of dosage and location of compost briquettes, namely (0, 100, 200) g in plant roots (0, 100 , 200) g around the plant, and repeated 3 times. The results of this study indicate that the method of water administration has no significant effect on N-soil, N-plants, C-organic, and height and number of leaves in the date palm seedlings. However the application of briquette compost and the method of giving water inundation tends to increase Nsoil, N-plants, C-organic soil.
