Abstract

The purpose of this research was to: 1) Identify the patterns of fishpond farming which was carried out in Desa Simpang Tiga Makmur Kecamatan Tulung Selapan Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir. 2) Determine the optimal pattern of fishpond farming to be used optimally in the drainage of land so that the farmers earned maximum income. 3) Analyze the effect of changes on the availability of farmers resources against the farming optimum pattern should be implemented. 4) Analyze the obstacles that caused the farmers did not implement the optimum pattern of fishponds. Determining the location of this research is done intentionaly (purposive). Data collection was conducted in march 2014 to april 2014. Data were collected in the form of primary data and secondary data. The method used in this study was survey method. The pattern of fishpond that farmers do in Desa Simpang Tiga Makmur is poly culture fishpond pattern, which is the fishpond pattern of black tiger shrimp and milkfish. Based on the results of the data processing by using linear programming obtained the optimal pattern of fishpond farming was shrimp and milkfish on MT I with land area 1.8014 ha and MT II with broad 1.7998 ha of land. The analysis result of sensitivity showed that; If the demand plus amounting to 100 percent of allocation of the permitted on optimal combination then obtained increased in earnings of Rp. 2.812.840,- or 16.05 percent of the optimal allocation.The obstacles that faced by the farmers in executed the optimum pattern of fishponds is the low quality of shrimp fry with life mortality of shrimp fry that only 40 percent – 50 percent.
