Abstract
OPI jakabaring residence is one of the residences in Palembang city which often flood. The retention pond was built on this area in hope of flood controlling and need to be evaluated. The retention pond at Opi Raya Street Jakabaring Palembang. This study aims to determine the water flow into the retention pond , the efficiancy and water balance ( water balance) in the retention pond , as well as determine the need for pumps to be used in retention ponds. then methodology further research is to survey the field and took the primary data and search the secondary data, which will be analyzed use formulas by the hydrology and hydraulics approach. The result of this study shows the retention pond has 8,51 Ha area with lowest elevation -3,057 m and highest elevation 2 m. The Existing condition of retention pond resulting inflow discharge peak is 12,992 m3/s and outflow discharge peak is 9,322 m3/s, based on HEC-HMS simulation the maximum elevation of water is 2,19 m which this elevation is more than the retention pond’s maximum elevation. The given solution of flood controlling is adding the flood pumps.. Result of this analysis shows inflow discharge peak is 13,77 m3/s and outflow discharge peak is 2,69 m3/s, and the maximum elevation of water is 1,85 m. This condition indicates that the maximum elevation of water don’t exceed the maximum elevation of retention pond.
