Abstract

Blasting in mining activities aims to dismantle overburden to facilitate the transportation process. Pit Pinang South is one of the pits in PT Kaltim Prima Coal which around the location of the mine there are settlements. Pit Pinang South has some environmental problems regarding the reports of surrounding communities on the level of ground disturbance (Ground Vibration) is quite disturbing, this is because of some vibration measurement results still have PPV value above the threshold 3 mm / s based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No.7571 of 2010. Since January to September 2016 100 blasts have been carried out, within 32 times the blast exceeds the standard 3 mm / s Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) value. Departing from the problem required a planning and design for explosive activities, especially those who want to focus is the optimum setting analysis intershot delay time by using signature hole method to get the value of PPV below 3 mm / s. Optimum intershoot delay time has been done before, the result is 40 ms with a maximum number of 250 hole explosive holes for a 10,000 ms length timing shoot using an Uni-tronic 600 electronic detonator. The increasing intensity of the blast at Pit Pinang South requires further analysis To get the intershoot delay time value lower than 40 ms while still paying attention to the maximum PPV threshold value of 3 mm/s. The signature hole method is one of the wave analysis methods to control the vibration level by analyzing the waves generated from one hole blasting. The use of the Uni-tronic 600 electronic detonators also plays a role in reducing the PPV level by applying a more precise time delay (scatter time 0.03%) than non-tectonic detonators (5% scatter time). The method of research conducted in this study consisted of literature study, field observation, data retrieval, data processing and analysis, and conclusion. Data analysis performed in the form of wave analysis based on linear superposition principle, simulation in software, and field simulation to get recommendation of optimum delay time. Analysis of vibration waves measured by the geophone will produce three waves, namely tranversal, vertical, longitudinal that is read on Blastmate III tool with the help of Blastware software. The waves will be analyzed by manual signature hole analysis (SHA) with Microsoft Excel 2010 to obtain the optimum intershot delay value which is the interval between the holes in order to avoid overlapping/reinforcement, then further analysis to determine Design time blasting with the help of Shotplus software to obtain an optimum delay timing recommendation. Based on the result of SHA, it is recommended that the optimum delay time with optimum intershot delay is 35 ms and the average value of PPV resulting from the analysis of 6 signature hole data is 39.67%. After field simulation using intershot delay 35 ms at Pit Pinang South the average value of PPV produced 2,147 mm/s with decrease 24,66% from plan made without change of blasting parameter and PPV result of research according to set research target that is ≤ 3 mm/s. From the result of 24,66% decrease of PPV, hence can be generated recommendation to increase the number of holes by changing the value of Intershot Delay Timing to 35 ms to increase overburden production by sticking to the vibration standard which has been set that is 3 mm/s.
