Abstract

The objective of these research was to test the performance of screen control system at screenhouse based on microcontroller Arduino Uno R3. The research was conducted from March 2017 until July 2017 at Energy and Electrification Laboratory, Mechanical Laboratory, and Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The research used descriptive method with two comparative factors were screenhouse without screen (A1) and screenhouse with screen control (A2). These research was consisted of four stages : making screenhouse, control system design, equipment operation, and equipment test. The observed parameters were light intensity, temperature, relative humidity (RH), high of plant, leaf area, sensor accuracy, and electrical energy consumption. The result of these research showed that screen control system at screenhouse had good performance because could operated based on set point. The average high of plant at screenhouse without screen (A1) was 2.69 cm and 3.31 cm at screenhouse with screen control (A2). The average leaf area at screenhouse without screen (A1) was 0.46 cm² and 0.45 cm² at screenhouse with screen control (A2). Total electrical energy used for 7 days screen control system test was 0.016 kWh.
