Abstract

Oxidation process of with Hummer method might resulted Reduced Graphene Oxide (RGO) instead of Graphene Oxide (GO) as the existent of sulphuric acid intercalate and thermal heating as 120oC. Gelam Wood Peel carbon (C GWP) was varied by concentrated H2SO4 and KMnO4:H2SO4 ratio as 1:2 and 1:3. RGO was composed with polyanilline (PANI) through in situ polymerization for composite material application. Conductivity measurement was using two probe method. RGO has 10-6 until 10-4 S/cm conductivity. SEM image of RGO performed asymmetrical folding-like layers. Diffraction pattern showed broad peaks at 2θ = 24,3o for RGO KKG 51 and 25,9o for RGO KKG. Main functional group peaks at 3441 cm-1 for free water –OH groups, 1627 cm-1 for alkene C=C stretch and carboxylic C-O stretch, respectively. RGO/PANI conductivity was increased to 0,00279 S/cm. Composite characterization indicated that composite has aggromerlate structure; diffraction peaks was shifted to 2θ = 25,8o for RGO/PANI 51 and 25,6o for RGO/PANI KKG; composite main infrared absorption at 1573 and 1496 cm-1 for quinon and benzoid rings, 1149 and 1103 cm-1 showed π bonding interaction between RGO and conjugated structure of PANI. Thermoelectric parameter, conductivity vs temperatur and seebeck coefficient, was measured to several C KKG, RGO and RGO/PANI. Electrical conductivity was performed at range 3.91261 x 10-5 to 0.013786304 S/cm as temperatur rises from 319-400 K. Thus, it was assumed as semiconductor materials. seebeck coefficient at 20-100 K thermal gradient (ΔT) fitted for one coefficient at C KKG and RGO 51 linear plot meanwhile others was fitted for at least 3 coefficient as showed in third order polynomial curves. At 20-60 K thermal gradient (ΔT), linear plot of each material measured was performed seebeck coefficient ranged 10 μV/K to 300 μV/K.
