Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of antifungal from the optimum formula submicro particle of chitosan and sodium alginate carrying ethanol extract of soybean seeds. The dosage formulation was preceded by coating ethanol extract of soybean seeds with chitosan and sodium alginate polymers so that it could change the particle shape of soybean seed extract (Glycine max L.) into a submicro particle preparation in order to increase the penetration of preparations into the skin. The formulation of particle submikro preparations uses three formulas with variations of cross linker CaCl2 as a differentiator. The results of the percent encapsulation efficiency (EE) of the three formulas were 88.53% ± 0.069, 85.20% ± 0.070, and 77.12% ± 0.069 respectively. The results of submicro characterization of particles such as diameter and particle size distribution (Poly Dispersity Index / PDI) and potential zeta at the optimum formula were 1379.1 nm; 0.396; and +4.8 mV. The results of the X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis of the optimum submicro formula of the particles showed a change in the amorphous form characterized by a decrease in the maximum lamda peak. The In Vivo test on treatment group 2 using the optimum formula for submicro preparations of particles showed a faster reduction in lesions, which was 53% compared to only using pure soybean extract.
