Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of johar (Gliricidia sepium) leaves organic fertilizer application on the growth of okra plants (Abelmoschus esculentus L.). The research method used is the experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments and four replications. The treatment consisted of P0 (control), P1 (10%), P2 (20%), P3 (30%), P4 (40%), and P5 (50%). The data was analyzed with ANOVA and continued with Duncan’s Real Differences Test (DRDT). The results showed that the aplication of liquid organic fertilizer had a very significant effect on the growth of okra plants with F count > F table 1%. The most effective concentration is P3 (30%) with plant height (43,08 centimetre), the number of leaves (6,8 sheet), shoot wet weight (23,47 g) and roots (3,99 g), and shoot dry weight (3,59 g) and roots (0,53 g). Based on these results it was concluded that the liquid organic fertilizer johar leaves has a very significant effect in increasing the growth of okra plants. The result of this research can be used as enricment material on basic Competence 3.1 Explain the influence of internal factors and external factors on growth and development in living beings and Basic Competence 4.1 Prepare experimental results reports on the influence of external factors on the growth process and plant development made in from lesson plans and student work sheet.
