Abstract

THE ROLE OF JOB DEMANDS TOWARD READINESS FOR CHANGE IN EMPLOYEES OF PT. PUPUK SRIWIDJAJA PALEMBANG Khansa Dhia Savila1, Marisya Pratiwi2 ABSTRACT The research objective was to determine role of job demands towards readiness for change. The major hypothesis in this research is the role of job demands towards readiness for change. The minor hypothesis: (1) there is a role of quantitative job demands towards readiness for change, (2) there is a role of emotional job demands towards readiness for change, and (3) there is a role of mental job demands towards readiness for change The population of the study was 2093 employees of PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang. The researcher sample was 297 employees and for try out was 50 employees. This study used quota sampling technique. Job demands and readiness for change was measured by the scale which refers to the types of job demands from Peeter, Montgomery, Bakker, & Schaufelli (2005), and dimensions of readiness for change from Holt, Amenarkis, Field, & Harris (2007). The data was analyze using multiple resgression analysis. The result of major hypothesis shows that job demands have a role to the readiness for change, with p-value=0,000 (p<0,05) R= 0,688, R square= 0,473, F=87,545. The result of minor hypothesis shows that: (1) there is role of quantitative job demands to readiness for change with effective contribution= 39,77%, (2) there is role of emotional job demands to readiness for change with effective contribution= 3,66%, and (3) there is role of mental job demands to readiness for change with effective contribution= 3,77% . Therefore the hypothesis are accepted.
