Abstract
Catches from the sea and coastal waters of the Banyuasin Regency reaches 83% of the total marine fisheries caught in South Sumatra. This study used fisheries statistics in 2009-2016 Banyuasin Regency to determine sustainable potential and interview data for Sungsang 1-4 Village fishermen to determine the dominant bioeconomic value of fish on the coast of Banyuasin. The method used to predict the sustainable potential of this study is Schaefer, Gulland, and Fox. The purpose of this study was to analyze the best fit models (Fox, Schaefer, Gulland) to predict dominant fish stocks and calculate the dominant bioeconomic value of fish in the Banyuasin Coast, South Sumatra. The best model for estimating the dominant fish stocks (anchovies, stingray, swordfish) in Banyuasin waters, South Sumatra for the 2009-2016 period is the Fox model. The average of catching effort is the category of overfishing, and for the average catch of anchovies, stingray, and swordfish is fully-exploited. The maximum economic value (MEY) of anchovies was 1657 tons / year, stingray was 2153 tons / year, and the swordfish was 1418 tons / year. The catch cannot reach the maximum economic level because it has exceeded the limit of its sustainable catch.
